I Have Work For Thee

Moses 1: 4, 6

And, behold, thou art my son; wherefore look, and I will show thee the workmanship of mine hands; but not all, for my works are without end, and also my words, for they never cease.

And I have a work for thee, Moses, my son; and thou art in the similitude of mine Only Begotten; and mine Only Begotten is and shall be the Savior, for he is full of grace and truth; but there is no God beside me, and all things are present with me, for I know them all.

There is great power in knowing who we are—sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. God first reminded Moses of his true identity as His son, and then revealed His own power as Moses’s Father. Knowing who we are, and understanding who we can become—like our Father, the most powerful being in the universe—should fundamentally shape how we see ourselves, our lives, and the world around us. This knowledge gives us power to act in behalf of our Father in Heaven with confidence, purpose, hope, and joy.

God has work for each of us. Knowing what we are capable of as sons and daughters of God gives us strength to obey and to follow through. God declares, “All things are present with me, for I know them all.” He invites us to trust Him—His plan, His timing, and His wisdom. As we rely on His power and mercy, through our Savior Jesus Christ, we can be guided along the path back to Them with peace, purpose, and alignment.

Have you ever wondered what work God has for you? I have. I wonder how different my life—and my day-to-day decisions—might be if I knew exactly what God wanted me to do. I believe there is a way to find out: ask God. I invite each of us to pause, ask Him what He has prepared for us to do, and then listen. Like Moses, we may be invited to glimpse the grandeur of who God is, His creations, and our own limitless capacities.
